Accounting Manager
Location: Northeast Maryland (Fully Onsite)
Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + Benefits
About the Opportunity
A growing, mission-driven organization is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting function and serve as a key financial partner to leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounting cycle, including A/P, A/R, reconciliations, and cash management
- Prepare monthly financial statements, P&Ls, and management reports
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Assist with annual audits and regulatory reporting
- Monitor grant compliance and reporting requirements
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and intercompany reconciliations
- Process payroll and oversee related accounting functions
- Identify process improvements and implement accounting best practices
- Partner with executive leadership on financial planning and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support
- Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting function
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Nonprofit and grant accounting experience is a plus but not required
